Weekend Indulgences

It's rare that David and I have a free time on a weekend. So when we do, we like to spoil ourselves. Mum gave me two huge Grammas from her garden a week ago and I've been waiting to make Gramma Pie. For those of you who haven't tried it, you need to! While it's a mission to peel and cut the jolly thing, the end result is well worth the time and effort. We were really naughty and filled the middle with ice cream. (Calories don't count on weekends)

David set himself the goal of learning how to bake this year.
He did a fine job of his first batch of muffins.
I'm looking forward to next weekend!

I love thick, creamy froth on cappuccinos. It's well known amongst my friends that I'd order a baby cino if I had no shame. I still cop slack from breaking the milk frother my friend Sam gave me years ago. Over use. Craving a coffee to accompany our freshly baked muffins David and I sat contemplating our options.
A thought occurred..."how about the smoothie blender?" It worked a treat. We've been enjoying our home made cappuccinos ever since.

Exploration of Type

I love type. Beautifully crafted script, classic serifs, crisp clean san serifs, even hand written journals...I love it all. I find it fascinating that there can be so many variations of the one character. The following photographs are a personal exploration of the positive and negative space type can create.

Favourite past times

It's funny how the simplest things in life are often the most enjoyable. While it rained relentlessly over Christmas, our family gathering turned into a bubble contest on the front porch. Young and old, it amused us all for quite some time.

A Country Wedding

These lovely arrangements were created by my friend Sami for a wedding in the country on Saturday. I was lucky enough to help out & photograph her beautiful work. I particularly love the crates of flowers and the Granny Smith apples. Very quaint! As my own wedding is fast approaching it was a great opportunity to witness how much work is involved in the visual presentation...lots!
